
IMT Then Leo Cattoni started Joliet
Harbor Tug Service in 1987 and changed the name to Illinois Marine
Towing, Inc. The original Joliet Harbor Tug
Service, operated by longtime friends, Herb and Mary Lou Schreiner,
consisted of a two boat fleeting service located in Joliet Harbor.
IMT began an immediate growth program, which included adding fleeting
services in Lemont and Channahon, additional horsepower, dry cargo
barges and terminal services at each fleet.
IMT Now Today IMT operates a fleet of eight towboats
ranging from 700 – 2600
horsepower, sixty dry cargo barges, and three fleeting/terminal locations
at Lemont, Joliet, and Channahon, Illinois.
